Basement Windows

Windows can make your basement appear more pleasing and improve safety. Large basement windows, sometimes referred to as "egress windows," from Pella of Albuquerque are created to permit more light into underground rooms than the older, smaller, rectangular windows that sit above ground. They also provide a way out in case of an emergency.

The biggest differentiator between basement, or egress, windows and standard windows is that basement windows must be made for an average-sized person to make it out in order to meet safety requirements set up in building codes. You are able to select from appropriately sized casement, sliding or double-hung windows when you install basement windows. Be sure you totally understand local building codes prior to purchasing basement windows.
